Creative Writing Tutoring and Mentoring
If you would like support with your writing, our tutoring and mentoring service could help. Through one-to-one sessions, Christina can help with whatever you’re working on, be it a short story, novel, university assignment, or something else entirely.
Dr Christina Clover is a published author, and experienced (DBS-checked) tutor and mentor. She offers guidance, constructive feedback, and a collaborative approach to help you develop your writing skills.
Tutoring, Mentoring, or Both?
What’s the difference?
- Creative Writing Tutoring focuses on practical, skill-based support. Sessions help you improve specific aspects of your writing, like plot, character development, structure, or storytelling techniques. You’ll work on exercises, receive live feedback, and build skills you can use independently.
- Creative Writing Mentoring is a collaborative partnership aimed at supporting a specific project or body of work. Christina will guide you through drafting and revising your writing, offering professional feedback and suggestions along the way.
Many learners benefit from a combination of both — tutoring to develop skills and mentoring to apply them to a real project. We recommend booking a free consultation to discuss your goals and decide which approach, or combination, is best for you.
How It Works
- Free Consultation: A Zoom meeting to discuss your project, writing goals, and preferred approach.
- Tailored Sessions: One-to-one support via Zoom, personalised to your schedule.
- Feedback & Guidance: Written feedback, suggested edits, live teaching, and creative exercises depending on whether you choose mentoring, tutoring, or a combination. Between sessions, you can submit up to 1,000 words (as standard) of your writing each time, and Christina will provide detailed feedback before your next session.

Yes. While everyone brings different strengths and experiences, creative writing is a craft that can be developed. Techniques such as character development, dialogue, structure, and editing can all be learned and strengthened through practice.
This is one of the most common challenges writers face. Starting is often easier than continuing. Structured guidance, manageable goals, and regular feedback can help writers build momentum and complete projects.
Many writers continue onto more in-depth courses, mentoring, or larger projects. The aim is not simply to complete one course, but to help you continue growing as a writer.
